- failed in an effort to become vice president at 47,
- lost a senatorial race at 49, and
- was elected president of the US at age 52,
This man was Abraham Lincoln.

Determined people possess the stamina and courage to pursue their ambitions despite failures, criticism, ridiculus or unfavourable circumstances. Based on many sources it's very clear that determination and perseverance are critical to be successful in managing change.
